Spend some time enjoying the outdoors through a multitude of mediums. Presenters will guide you through their favorite ways to elevate your journaling practice, no skills required. Come to each session and receive a journal to take home.


Mindfulness in Our Everyday Life: Create your Own Journal

June 13, 10-11:30 a.m.

Mindfulness is the state of being fully present and aware of where we are in the moment without being reactive or overwhelmed. Mindfulness is feeling from the inside out. Come join us for a morning of mindfulness as we explore living in the now of your existence. Learn how to make your own personal journal as you begin a journey into mindfulness.

Nature Journaling: Drawing and Painting

July 25, 8:30-10 a.m.

Nature journaling is observing a moment in time that you want to treasure and revisit later. Nature journaling is also whatever you want it to be, you own it. Explore nature journaling using paper and pencil as we observe the natural world.




Family Fun Day

Family Fun

Every Sunday from noon – 5 p.m.

Family Fun Days includes monthly themes with weekly crafts, outdoor activities and experiments that will deepen your discover of the world.


June’s theme is Water and Wetlands

Get your feet and net wet in a discovery of New Mexico’s precious resource—water. Contrast the pond with the river by measuring temperature and collecting macroinvertebrates, or make a wetland watercolor inside. Cool off with water games outside.

July’s theme is Arthropods Abound

Appreciate the arthropods around us by making them a hotel, or help collect data on what insects are outside in the Open Space. Look at under the microscope at a number of specimens or you can hunt for your own to observe.
