Downtown Neighborhoods Association
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Monthly Meeting
December 6, 2017

The December 2017 meeting of the Downtown Neighborhoods Association was held in the law office of board member Minerva Camp, pursuant to prior approval. The December meeting is traditionally a short meeting and a holiday social event.

Holly Siebert called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Board members in attendance: Alice Bergman, David McCain, Rowan Wymark, Lucas Elliott, Asra Ahmad, Minerva Camp, Holly Siebert, Daniel Gutierrez, Reba Eagles and Israel Chavez. Three board members were absent.  (Note: the board currently has 13 members.) Ten other adult neighbors and countless children also attended. Sign in sheets are on file.

Introductions were made. The agenda was approved. The November 1 minutes were approved.

Lucas Elliott gave the Treasurer’s Report. For the month of November there was no income and no expenses. The November 30 balance was $22,536.03.

Alice Bergman announced that the next meeting of the tour committee would be held on Sunday, December 10 at Daniel and Marisa Gutierrez’s home. Alice asked for suggestions for homes for the tour and asked all board members to recruit docents. Ric Higginbotham said the committee needs a budget, mainly for printing, the trolley and the homeowners’ dinner.

There was a discussion of Chan Graham’s proposal that his extensive collection of DNA documents should be properly stored somewhere. Minerva Camp volunteered to store the material at her office. A second proposal came from Mary Jamieson, a neighbor who works for the Public Library. She will look into the possibility that the Library might take the documents.

Rowan Wymark announced that the Community Policing Council would begin to meet at the Wells Park Community Center (Sixth and Mountain).

The meeting was adjourned at 7:25.

Respectfully submitted,

David McCain
