Treasurer’s Office Reminds Property Owners Taxes Are Due Nov. 10, 2017

Bernalillo County – Bernalillo County Treasurer Nancy Bearce has announced the due dates for property tax bills.  The due date for the first half of the tax bill is Friday, Nov. 10.  Bernalillo County taxpayers have several options when making payments.  For more information about the Bernalillo County Treasurer’s Office and the different payment options, or for customer service questions, please visit


“We can accept payments online, at drop boxes, through the mail or by simply coming into the Treasurer’s Office in person in the basement of One Civic Plaza NW,” says Treasurer Nancy Bearce. “My top priorities have been better customer service, transparency and more payment options for Bernalillo County taxpayers.”


Additionally, nine banks and credit unions accept property tax payments from now through Dec. 11, 2017, including:


Bank of New Mexico                          Rio Grande Credit Union                    MyBank

First Financial Credit Union               State Employees Credit Union           Wells Fargo Bank

First National Rio Grande                  US Eagle Federal Credit Union          New Mexico Bank and Trust


Payments can also be dropped off at the following drop box sites: Westside, Paradise Hills and Raymond G. Sanchez community centers; the Motor Vehicle Division office in Tijeras, and at the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Government Center at the corner of Fifth Street and Marquette Avenue NW.

Treasurer Bearce also noted that her office is still collecting information for taxpayers interested in receiving their tax bills electronically in the future.  If interested, visit or to learn more.


Other details about this year’s tax bills include:

  • Bernalillo County 2017 tax bills were mailed Nov. 1, 2017. If property owners do not receive a tax bill or are unsure of the amount owed, they should call customer service at (505) 468-7031 or email
  • Collection Dates: The first half tax payment is due Nov.10 and becomes delinquent, if not postmarked, by Dec. 11, 2017.  The second half is due April 10, 2018 and becomes delinquent after May 10, 2018.
  • For mailed payments, cash is not accepted. Please mail a personal check, cashier’s check or money order. The parcel identification must be included for proper credit.
  • Payments should include a valid 2017 tax coupon(s) or documentation referencing the parcel/UPC number. The indicated payment amount should match the check amount.

  • Please note that Bernalillo County collects and distributes property taxes not just for Bernalillo County government, but for most other local governments as well, including the City of Albuquerque, Albuquerque Public Schools, CNM, UNMH, and the State of New Mexico.  Please see graph below.
