4th Annual Sugar Skull Fun Run

Bernalillo County – Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Sugar Skull Fun Run.

The Dia de los Muertos-themed race will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28 and begins at 9:30 a.m. at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 Fourth Street SW.

Participants can register for the 5k or 10k fun runs. The race route will follow the Bosque Trail south toward Rio Bravo Boulevard. Walkers and pets are also welcome to participate.

Early bird registration is only $25 per adult and $15 for kids 12 years and under. The registration fee includes the coveted official Sugar Skull Fun Run long sleeve dri-fit shirt, while supplies last.

Register online today at www.bernco.gov/RunBernCo. Adult registration goes up to $40 after Oct. 24.

Additional activities planned for the event are Dia de los Muertos face painters, artisans, food trucks and music.

Jump start the Halloween and Dia de los Muertos season with this fun run — plan to arrive early and dress to impress.

Proceeds from the fun run will benefit the newly created BernCo Quality of Life Community Fund. The BernCo Quality of Life Community Fund is similar to a foundation; it allows individuals to make tax-exempt donations to the county to support events such as the fun run and other activities that are currently funded out of the county’s general operations budget.
