The second annual South Valley Chile Fiesta will be held Saturday, Aug. 29 from 12–8 p.m. in the South Valley’s Gateway Park, 100 Isleta Blvd. SW (at the intersection of Bridge and Isleta SW).

Local individuals and restaurants will compete in a chile and salsa taste-off. This is a FREE event and festivities include entertainment, games for children, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks and a local beer garden. Attendees can pick the winner of the chile and salsa taste-off by purchasing a “sampler wrist band” for $5. All proceeds benefit South Valley MainStreet, the Mixing Bowl, and the South Valley Economic Development Center.

Event parking is provided at no cost by a park and ride service from the old Herrera bus lot at 1140 Sunset Road SW. The first bus will leave the lot at 11 a.m. and the last will leave the park at 9 p.m. Only handicapped parking will be permitted on site.

This is a cash only event. Patrons will need to purchase “chile chips” to use at food and beverage vendors and in the beer garden.
