BernCo Treasurer, Manny Ortiz

The final deadline for paying 2014 property taxes is coming up, and Bernalillo County property owners once again have several options to pay their taxes, Bernalillo County Treasurer Manny Ortiz announced today.

Ortiz encouraged property owners to take care of their property taxes due on April 10, and avoid possible penalties and interest for late payments.

“From paying online, going to a local bank or stopping by our office, Bernalillo County property owners have many options to pay their bills,” County Treasurer Manny Ortiz says. “We’ve worked hard to improve customer service and create new avenues for our community to interact with the Bernalillo County Treasurer’s Office.”

Property tax bills for 2014 were sent Nov. 1, 2014. The second installment is due April 10, 2015. The first half was due Nov. 10, 2014.

Property owners can pay their taxes by mail, online or by simply coming into the Treasurer’s Office in person in the basement of One Civic Plaza NW.

Additionally, 12 banks and credit unions will accept property tax payments at drop boxes, including: Bank of Albuquerque, Bank of the Rio Grande, MyBank, New Mexico Bank and Trust, Peoples Bank, Sunrise Bank of Albuquerque, US Bank, Wells Fargo, First Financial Credit Union, Rio Grande Credit Union, State Employees Credit Union and U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union.

Other details include:

  • Bernalillo County 2014 tax bills were mailed on Nov. 1, 2014. If you haven’t received a tax bill or are unsure of the amount owed, please call customer service at (505) 468-7031.
  • Collection Dates: The second installment is due April 10. Taxes are delinquent, which means penalties and interest are added, after May 10.
  • For mailed payments, cash payments are not accepted. Please send a personal check, cashier’s check or money order. The parcel identification must be included for proper credit.
  • Payments should include a valid 2014 tax coupon(s) or documentation referencing parcel/UPC number. The indicated payment amount should match the check amount.
