Project will create 62 full-time jobs, 150 construction jobs

Bernalillo County – The Bernalillo County Commission this evening approved an $11.3 million industrial revenue bond package for a Downtown mixed-use development including new apartments and a grocery store at Silver and Second Street SW.

The bonds are privately financed and allow the developer, UR 205 Silver, to exempt property taxes.

The project will create 62 full-time jobs and 150 construction jobs, as well as a new grocery store and 68 mixed-income housing units.

“Bernalillo County is proud to help revitalize Downtown Albuquerque with new developments that serve our community,” Commission Vice Chair Art De La Cruz says. “This is a great project that creates new jobs, new apartments and a new grocery store in the heart of Downtown.”

Last week, county and community leaders cut the ribbon on the nearby Silver Moon Lodge apartments, which features 151 affordable apartments with amenities.

Since 2010, the Bernalillo County Commission has supported projects that have created more than 1,800 new jobs and nearly $200 million in new private investment activity.
