Come outside and experience Bernalillo County!

Tour del Bosque is an adventure-filled event that brings the whole family outdoors and it is
happening on the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend, May 10.

Activities are scheduled across the county to reacquaint residents with the wonderful recreational facilities

and open spaces that exist within Bernalillo County.

On Saturday, May 10, the action gets started on the backside of the mountain.

It is the Oak Flats Mountain Bike Race and it is happening in Tijeras.

The bike trails range from 1.6 miles for children to 18 and 24 miles for adult women and men.

Races begin at 10 a.m. There are non-competitive and competitive events.

This is the only activity that has a registration cost.

Go to Oak Flats Mountain Races, to register.

Down in the North Valley, there will be a bike riding clinic underway at the North Valley Bike Park.

A team of BMX riders will be on-site demonstrating their skills and offering instruction

to all riders about safe riding techniques.

Jump onto the Paseo del Bosque Trail at the Bachechi Open Space

and ride, run or walk your way along the trail.

There will be trail stops along the way that will have water supplies, music and giveaways for all participants.

The Soaring the South Valley event at the Durand Open Space brings together birds and planes

and their shared history in the area.

Later in the day at Highland High School, beginning at 5 p.m. there will a literacy health fair and the showing of a community movie, The Rookie.

All residents are encouraged to come out and spend the day

in the great outdoors — on the trail or in the open spaces, come experience Bernalillo County.
