Jan. 29 event focuses on business startups

Bernalillo County – If you’re looking to start a business this year, please note a free workshop featuring experienced business leaders and expert advice.

Local business leaders will again offer free training and guidance at the county’s next small business workshop, scheduled for the evening of January 29.

Reserve your spot today for this free workshop, “What You’ll Want to Know (or Remember) About Starting Up a Business.”

The workshop is hosted by District 4 Commissioner Lonnie C. Talbert, who has years of senior executive experience and has served as the past chairman of the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re dedicated to sharing information and connecting entrepreneurs with the resources they need to succeed,” Commissioner Lonnie C. Talbert says. “I’m passionate about making sure local government supports the small business community and local job creation. And I’m proud to support more innovation and a better environment for new businesses, which is one of the best ways to improve our economy.”

The hour-long workshop is a collaboration between entrepreneurs and local business leaders. The group will identify a business and walk it through the initial startup stages, including: Business concept, business plan, implementation and marketing.

Presenters include longtime radio and television personality Larry Ahrens of the Morning Brew and Mike Stanford, president of Payday, Inc.

A networking mixer is scheduled for after the discussion.
