Dear Neighbors:

You may or may not have heard, but this is a very exciting year for three of Albuquerque’s fabulous museums – Explora, The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, and the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History – as we are co-hosts of the 2013 Association of Science and Technology (ASTC)’s yearly international convention. Most of the action will be taking place at the Albuquerque Convention Center, but we wanted to let you know that two of the dates of the conference will bring approximately 1500 visitors to Explora, Natural History and Tiguex Park in particular.

We are writing to inform you of these events, and to let you know that we have received temporary noise permits from the City of Albuquerque for these events:

· The first date is Saturday, October 20th, 2013 from 7:30 – 11:30pm for the areas surrounding both Explora and the Natural History Museum. The permit number associated with this date is: 13-4147. We will be closing 18th Street to set up a tent between our museums from 7am Saturday morning – 7am Sunday morning.

· The second date is Tuesday, October 22nd from 9am – 3:30pm at Tiguex Park for our collaborative “Science in the Park” day. The permit number associated with this date is: 13-4175. Science in the Park will feature demonstrations and hands on activity stations hosted by museums and science centers from across the United States. You are invited you to join us at Science in the Park.

We anticipate these days to be very busy, with conference folks coming and going between our two museums and Tiguex Park and hope to minimize any inconvenience to our fellow Sawmill friends. If you have any questions about these events, please contact me at the number listed below.

Thank you for your support.
