Portrait Workshop Series

Portrait Workshop Series
Tuesdays, 1 – 3 pm
Nov. 12 – Dec. 17
with Barbara Endicott
Cost: $20 for the 6 part series
(scholarships available)

This weekly creativity workshop is for those who want to learn how to draw portraits and for those who just want to practice regularly. Study the structure of the face, neck and shoulders. Learn proportion and drawing techniques such as gesture, contour and blocking in shadows. Explore how rendering the unique configuration of facial features can reveal a likeness. Experiment with different mediums for greater expressiveness. The models will be us, each taking a turn (or finding a volunteer friend) on a rotating basis.

Barbara Endicott, BFA, is a retired high school art teacher and now does commissioned portraits of people and animals. Drawing and painting the human face and figure has been her passion for many years. She is particularly fascinated with revealing character and life history found in the unique geography of each visage.
