Bernalillo County Open Space is once again offering Nature Packs at Bachechi Open Space. Nature Packs is a fun activity for the whole family, and it’s free! Get out and explore the natural wonders of Bachechi Open Space by investigating birds, bugs, tracks and more. Nature Packs is ideal for five to ten year-olds, and preschool packs are available for three to four year-olds. It’s easy. You just check out a backpack that is full of all the things you need to explore including guides, hands-on supplies, and activity sheets. Packs are available any time on Saturday’s from 9 a.m.-11:30 p.m. You can also call (505) 314-0420 to reserve a pack for other times. The Bachechi Environmental Education Building is located at 9521 Rio Grande Blvd. NW.

Also, make sure to SAVE THE DATE for the annual Food Festival and Field Day on October 13, 2013 at the Gutierrez-Hubbell House. This big event celebrates local food from the ground up, and this year we are focusing on Returning to the Land: Planting the Future.
