Assessor’s Office hours also extended to aid property owners

Bernalillo County – Staff from the county Assessor’s Office and Treasurer’s Office are now available at community centers throughout Bernalillo County to meet with property owners who may have questions about their property assessments.

County Assessor Tanya Giddings and her staff mailed out Notices of Value on May 1. The period to protest one’s Notice of Value runs now through May 30, 2013.

While the Assessor’s Office determines what a property’s valuation is, the taxes themselves are collected and managed by the county Treasurer’s Office.

Assessor and treasurer staff continue visiting the following community centers this Thursday, May 23 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to address property owners’ concerns and to file any protests.

No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome.
