Bernalillo County Fire Department Reminds Citizens
“Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery”

Bernalillo County – The Bernalillo County Fire Department wants to remind citizens to test and if necessary, change the batteries in their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when setting clocks forward to Mountain Daylight Time this weekend. Remind friends, family members and neighbors to do the same.

“We’ve responded to fires where smoke alarms were in place, but the batteries had not been checked or replaced in a long time. Taking the time to check and replace batteries takes just a few moments, and is the best defense your family has against the devastating effects of a home fire,” says Fire Marshal Chris Gober.

The change to Mountain Daylight Time occurs at 2:00 a.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013.
