A Traffic Committee has been formed to evaluation and address the effects of increased traffic and speeding on neighborhood streets, as well as the use of these streets by large trucks. If you would like to get involved please contact Connie Moore at Listed below are government agencies concerned with Traffic Issues in our City. A Traffic Study of the Downtown Area is currently being done.

The consultant on the Central Traffic Study is Tim Karpoff his phone number is (505) 877-6041. The plan itself can be downloaded at (middle of the page). It is referred to as the Central Diet Traffic Study.

The Proposed Sector Development Plan has recommended that 12th St. between Lomas and Central be downgraded from the classification of “arterial” to that of “collector”. This will increase the “traffic calming” options which are available for that street.

The Traffic Engineer for the City is Michael Riordan in the Dept. of Municipal Development
