The Albuquerque Embassy Suites Hotel & Spa cordially invites your Association to participate as a volunteer group in our expanded 5th Annual Day of the Tread event on Sunday October 16th, 2011. Many volunteer assignments are available for individuals, families or groups. In only its fourth year, this event had participation reaching 2000+ with beneficiaries receiving $60K in proceeds!
This family-oriented, Halloween-themed charitable Bike Ride (10-100 miles), walk and certified 5k/10k/half marathon will start and finish at the Albuquerque Embassy Suites Hotel & Spa. For the more challenging the inaugural Marathon will be launched this year navigating through the snake course at Mesa Del Sol.

Participants will enjoy a Sunday pre-event motivation gathering, a post-ride celebration, a pumpkin-lined course full of music, entertainment, themed aid stations and crazy contests. Prizes will be awarded for best costume to riders (or their bikes) as well as to runners and walkers- participation ensures a ghoulish-good time.

The Day of the Tread event benefits two local charities: Casa Esperanza & The Carrie Tingley Foundation. Casa Esperanza provides much needed housing and emotional support for patients and their families, who reside temporarily in Albuquerque while a patient receives treatment. The Carrie Tingley Foundation helps fund the Carrie Tingley Hospital; of which provides healthcare support for New Mexican children and adolescents who require long-term medical or therapeutic care.

If you enjoy bicycling, running, walking, dressing up in costume, or perhaps just having fun, please join us for this exciting event- you may volunteer by going to or contacting Dara Ambriz at
