A copy of the letter is attached.

The Water Authority is in no way associated with the Homeserve company and has recommended that anyone with doubts about their level of insurance coverage contact their own insurance company before purchasing supplemental insurance from anyone.

Because of the suspicious nature of the Homeserve letter, it has been reported to the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General’s Office as a likely scam. /> Catalog Choice is a *free* non-profit website anyone can use to stop junk mail they receive. The website is www.catalogchoice.org.

In coming months we are going to announce the cities that stop the most junk mail and we’re hoping Albuquerque makes the cut. We will also be able to track the impact – trees saved, solid waste diverted, CO2 saved – of your particular neighborhood association, which might be an interesting stat for your community to monitor and improve upon.

We are not selling anything; we are simply trying to get the word out that citizens can do this to reduce clutter in their own lives, reduce the trash their community has to dispose of, and save trees from being cut down just so companies can send them mail they don’t even want.

If you have questions, would like more information about Catalog Choice, or would like sample text for newsletters or other communications, please let me know.

Tyler Elliston
“We Have No More Heart”: Mescalero Apache Removal, Genocide, and Remembrance
Holocaust & Intolerance Museum of New Mexico , 616 Central Avenue SW Albuquerque
Sponsored by the Office of the State Historian and the Historical Society of NM

For decades scholars of history have studied and explored the Navajos’ Long Walk and forced incarceration by the United States government during the 1860s at Bosque Redondo, New Mexico, shedding new light on the atrocities committed there.
The Mescalero Apaches unique narrative at the Bosque, however, remains largely ignored by modern historians. In this lecture, M. Grace Hunt Watkinson, a master’s student at West Chester University in Pennsylvania in the Holocaust and Genocide Studies program, delves exclusively into the story of the Mescalero Apaches at Bosque Redondo. Grace sheds light on the horrific conditions at the Bosque and explores aspects of the Mescalero chronicle. She also analyzes the challenges of obtaining objective truth from government records and highlights the importance of native testimony when studying genocide in any form. Ultimately, through Grace’s examination of indigenous oral histories, government documents, and the records of Indian agents and the New Mexican citizenry, she reveals a paper trail of government and military stereotyping used not only to validate violence and cultural genocide against the Apache people but also to alter the public image and treatment of the Mescalero Apaches for decades to come.<br
