The renovation of historic Robinson Park at 8th & Central will be initiated this Saturday with a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the event. Guest of honor Mayor Martin Chavez will cut the ribbon, accompanied by members of Parks & Recreation, State Senator Jerry Ortiz y Pino, State Representative Rick Miera, and other members of our legislative community. Thanks to the efforts of Senator Ortiz y Pino and Representative Miera, The Downtown Neighborhood Association has received $94,000 to begin the renovation the park. The DNA has worked closely with the City for over 18 months on renovation plans, which include new benches and tables, landscaping, and hopefully, a play structure so that more of our residents, families, and neighbors will enjoy and use the park regularly. Big thanks to Senator Ortiz y Pino, Representative Miera, Anna Muller, Nathan Fox, and all who worked to bring this plan to life. Please join us for this event, followed by Growers’ Market festivities.
