Kids have ALL the fun!
If it’s really true that all people grow and learn through playful explorations, then shouldn’t everybody be eligible for Art Camp? Hmm… It really is heart wrenching to see the envy that splashes across parents’ faces when they pick their kids up from a dynamic day of Art Camp. We feel your pain.

Over here at The Harwood we’re brainstorming ways to offer you, our adult friends and members, the same sort of colorful and diverse immersion that we bring to kids each summer. Just imagine spending nurturing weeks in the company of talented artists, sharing techniques, making new friends, and basking in the glow of your creative process. Sounds dreamy doesn’t it?

Well, until we start running Art Camp for-the-rest-of-us, please remember the value of selfless gift giving and send a 1st-6th grader to Art Camp. Friday May 1st is the LAST day to receive our early registration discount. Call now! 505-242-6367 or visit us online to register your kids for Summer Art Camp.

> All of the events are open to you, so please take advantage of these wonderful opportunities to get involved with your creative community. This weekend the 505 Youth Film Festival will be workshopping in our Cafeteria. On Mother’s Day artists Becky Holtzman and Valerie Roybal will be leading you in a book making workshop. That same week, Lisa Gill is hosting a Write-to-Heal poetry evening. To see what else is happening, click the link. (Remember, look for the ducks!)

> The Harwood’s Emerging Artist Awards are one of many gratifying ways that we are able to support emerging artists. Each year we manage the application and award process for three different awards, and it just so happens that we have some winners to announce.
>
> The Madonna Daniel Award is offered each year to a talented artist (or artists) working in sculpture, drawing or painting. This year we are proud to announce Travis J. Farnsworth (a recent graduate from UNM Fine Arts Program) and Katherine Zoie Kinnick (a Sophomore at Sandia Prep) as our winners. Congratulations to you both!
>
> To donate to any of our Emerging Artist Award Funds, or to learn how you can apply for your own award, please contact Wade Patterson, wade@harwoodartcenter.org.

> Coming up in June
