Monthly Board of Directors Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Downtown Neighborhood Association took place at Harwood Arts Center, 1114 7th St. NW, Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. pursuant to prior approval.

Board members in attendance: Robert Bello, Sue Byrch, Jennifer DeGarmo, Ivan Alley, Jacque Wright, Laura Bruzzese, David Keleher, Lindi Anderson, George Kraehe, Gabe Campos, Sandy Gregory, Carol Giannini, Jim Clark, and Bob Yuhas (14)

Board members not in attendance: (0)

Other Neighbors present: Bill Rombin, Steve Morrow, Russ Janis, Jacqueline Guilbault, Susan Deichsel, Dick Deichsel, Jesse Scott

Chair George Kraehe, called the meeting to order. A quorum was present, the meeting duly convened, and ready to proceed with business. After introductions, the Board approved the agenda and minutes from January meeting as presented.

Treasurer’s Report

Jim Clark Submitted treasurer’s reports for December 2008 and January 2009. January saw income of $950 from film production companies to bring the account balance to $13,599.62. Also, Jim reported that the new DNA post office box is #7985, zip: 87194.

Police and Safety Report

There were no representatives from law enforcement.

Sector Development Planning Process

A DNA Zoning Committee delegation met with Councillor Debbie O’Malley to discuss the desire to revise the much-outdated Sector Development Plan. The City has allocated $245,000 for this purpose, and a consultant will be hired to head up the process and represent the DNA.

Website Presentation

http://abqdna.com/ is up and running. Laura will get the new member form to Jacque so she may add that. Jacque will add and manage a contact page so people can email with questions or concerns, and she will also add a paypal service so that people can pay member dues online. Board members’ names will appear on the website, and Jacque asks that board members and other neighbors review it and email or call her with specific comments, corrections, and suggestions, links, and news.

Zoning

Board members agreed as they are able to attend the facilitated meeting concerning a proposal for the property at 1301 Mountain in the Wells Park Neighborhood. The meeting, deferred from the January date, is now scheduled for 6p on February 9 at 19th and Bellamah. A board meeting will immediately follow (same location) to discuss the proposal and to possibly make a decision over publicly expressing support or opposition.

On February 18, there will be a planning and zoning hearing which will include the application for extension on subdivision improvements to theBell Trading Lofts. Sandy agreed to contact Mary Ellen Hennessey regarding the discussions over potentially incorporating vinyl as an allowable window type to the design guidelines.

Other Business

Lindi will collect feedback concerning recycling ideas and will recommendations to the City.

With no remaining business to discuss, meeting adjourned at 9:20.
